Library Supporters Gather

Over 80 area residents and library benefactors helped mark the groundbreaking for the Lester Public Library of Rome building project on Friday, June 10.  Town Chairman, Phil McLaughlin spoke about the growth of new opportunities in Rome, Terry Whitmore, Nekoosa School Administrator spoke about the importance of libraries, while Library Board President, Jeanne Osgood praised all the volunteers that made this day possible.  Lore Ponshock, Library Director closed the program speaking about how libraries have changed, they are still at the hub of the community and this library certainly has a bright future.
