Children's Programs

Stop in any time during Library hours the week of June 9th to register your child for our 2025 Summer Reading Program! This years theme is, "Color Our World", which symbolizes the idea of celebrating creativity, art, and diverse perspectives through reading and engaging in artistic activities.

United Way of South Wood & Adams Counties is dedicated to "closing the literacy gap" and giving children the tools they need to succeed. That is why every they distribute new and gently used books to children during the Great Book Giveaway!

During the Giveaway, local volunteers read books to children; then each child can select books to take home to keep.  Children (ages birth to 12), their parents, grandparents, caregivers, and families are all invited.

Have you ever met an owl face to face? What about a hawk or a falcon? Meet some of Wisconsin's common, but rarely encountered, birds. Discover what a raptor is, hear their stories, and learn what you can do to ensure they remain a significant part of the ecosystem. 

Glen is a magician who "fools all of the people, all of the time!” Get ready to be wowed by this incredible magician who is know for involving audiences in his show!

Tom Pease has an infectious sense of fun and community building. With movement, sign language, humor, and joy, he creates concerts that leave audiences laughing and singing.

"The Wacky World of Wesley Waffles" offers an engaging kid's show like no other! With fun props, engaging music, and audience participation, people LOVE Wesley Waffles LIVE!

We will have chicks incubating at the library! From June 25th-July 16th stop in at the chick table to learn about a chick’s development. From July 15th-16th stop in and cheer on our chicks as they start to hatch! Join us on July 16th at 11am with our guest from the Adams 4H group for a Hatch Party!

Part magic show, part science show, part juggling show, part STEM EDUCATION = 110% FUN for young and old!

A wildly unique opportunity to get up close and personal with some amazing animals, and learn about them in a fun and exciting way!

Meet us at Papa Bears Mini Golf (266 Matterhorn Tr. Nekoosa, WI 54457) for a round of free mini golf and an ice cream treat for all library summer reading participants.
