The Rome Library Garden Club, sponsored by the Friends of the Library, meets monthly during the spring, summer and fall months. The Rome Library Garden Club is open to anyone interested in learning more about gardening in sandy soils, sharing ideas with others and lending a helping hand in keeping the library gardens beautiful throughout the growing season.

The first meeting of 2022 will be Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the Community Room.

Each meeting has a focus for discussion, and this one will be no different.  The topic is “Starting Seeds Indoors” with a demonstration of how to start seeds so they are ready for transplanting into your gardens as soon as the weather cooperates.  A seed exchange will be held, too, so anyone having extra seeds at home can bring them to the meeting to share with others. Please bring some envelopes to take seeds home if you are participating in the exchange. Envelopes are easy to fold over and label.

At the March meeting, we will set dates for future monthly meetings and determine discussion topics based on participants’ interests.

Retired Master Gardener Volunteer Jeanne Osgood and Certified Master Gardener Volunteer Deb Rokke will help lead discussions.
